I bought these pants in a size 14. The fit for me is as follows: 1. The waist is slightly too large...about an inch. As I wore these through the day, the waist stretched a bit more. Luckily, I had on a long T-shirt which covered the waist, so I think the largeness was not noticed. I will have to take a couple of small darts in the waist so that these fit. I am no lightweight and have a waist that is about 35 1/2. So if you have a small, dainty waist, these are going to be too big. If you have a larger waist, you are in luck because these pants do stretch.

The pants are also a bit long. Most size 14's have a lenghth of 31 inches. These are 33 inches. I had to roll mine up and make BIG cuffs as I am on the short side. Having stated that I had to roll them up, you will see that they were certainly NOT ankle length.

Fitted: The pants are noted as being fitted and they were tight around my lower leg when I first put them on. As I wore them throughout the day, they did stretch and looked like normal, boot type jeans.

The most obvious conclusion is that these pants are quite forgiving and if you are carrying a few extra pounds, they will certainly stretch out for you. I have read documentation that states that for each size, an extra eight pounds is added. Given that information and knowing that these are cut on the generous side, I would recommend that you consider the measurements I have given you and think about ordering a size smaller than you generally wear. Since I had worn these, they cannot be returned. I DID order them in pink, blue and yellow. So the yellow and pink will be returned. I AM ALWAYS unsure about ordering a size smaller than normal, but with these pants, I see it as a real option. Use my measurements to determine whether or not these pants are the correct size for YOU!

I like the weight of the fabric of these jeans which is much better for warmer weather. They are not as comfortable as my Joan NYDJ jeans, though. I love the colour for spring and they look cute!

These are a great color for this season/year when the sytle is bright. Also, I'm petite, 5'3" and I've discovered I can buy regular length ankle pants and they fit me just fine, albeit a tad over the ankle.I bought these pants in a size 14.
